Bio

Mike Colter is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Luke Cage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe television series Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders. His commanding presence and powerful performances have made him a standout in the superhero genre, earning him widespread recognition.

Colter has had significant roles in several feature films, showcasing his versatility across different genres. He made his film debut in Million Dollar Baby (2004), starring alongside Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank. He later appeared in Salt (2010) with Angelina Jolie and Men in Black 3 (2012), sharing the screen with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. His other notable film credits include Zero Dark Thirty (2012) with Jessica Chastain, Extinction (2018), and Plane (2023), where he co-starred with Gerard Butler. He also starred in the action thriller The Union (2024), alongside Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry.

Beyond film, Colter has built an impressive television career. He played Lemond Bishop in The Good Wife and its spinoff The Good Fight, Malcolm Ward in Ringer, and Nick Donovan in The Following.
