Bio

John Kassir is an American actor and comedian best known for his iconic voice work as the Cryptkeeper in HBO's Tales from the Crypt. His distinctive, eerie laugh and chilling narration made the character a cult favorite among horror fans. Beyond his work as the Cryptkeeper, Kassir also gained recognition for his portrayal of Ralph in the off-Broadway show Reefer Madness and its 2005 film adaptation.

Some of his feature films include Jack the Giant Slayer (2013), where he played the small head of the two-headed ruler of the giant tribe, General Fallon, alongside Nicholas Hoult and Ewan McGregor. He also starred as Igor in Monster Mash (2000), a film featuring Candace Cameron Bure and John De Lancie. His performance as Ralph Wiley in Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) saw him acting alongside Kristen Bell and Alan Cumming. In addition, for Disney, he played Elliot the dragon in the live action remake Pete’s Dragon (2016) and Meeko in Pocahontas (1995).

Kassir has an extensive career in voice acting, having voiced Jibolba in Tak and the Power of Juju and brought Deadpool to life in the video games X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. His voice work extends to characters in Tiny Toon Adventures, where he replaced Charlie Adler as the voice of Buster Bunny and has been one of the actors to play Scrooge McDuck since Alan Young’s passing. He has also voiced the murderous alien Blim Blam on Rick and Morty.
