Bio
Born in Rimouski but a Montrealer for over a decade, Mel Gosselin holds a bachelor's degree in teaching French as a second language from Université Laval and a diploma in fiction screenwriting from L'institut national de l'image et du son. Ever since she was a little girl, this geeky mother of two has had a passion for Japanese animation, cinema and video games. In 2011, she published her very first novel, Cétacia, a historical fiction that won critical acclaim for its poignant scenes.
In 2013, she was approached by Bryan Perro (Amos Daragon) to write a science fiction trilogy, Jacky Salaberry. With Rôdeur Mortel, in the company of illustrator Viviana Armenio, the author draws her inspiration from the rhythm and style of shônen! She hopes to introduce Quebecers to “ranobé” (light novel): a Japanese concept halfway between novel and manga.
