Carrie Fisher | Star Wars (original trilogy)
When Harry Met Sally
Carrie Fisher is easily one of the most recognizable sci-fi icons from the last four decades. Best known as Princess Leia, the first princess with attitude, she not only played the role in the original Star Wars trilogy, but will most likely reprise the role that made her famous in the next installment Star Wars: Episode VI, directed by JJ Abrams. Outside of Star Wars, Fisher has had a long career in cinema and TV, with roles in When Harry Met Sally (1989) and Sex and the City. She is also an accomplished novelist and screenwriter, with her 1987 novel Postcards from The Edge having been adapted by herself into a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep. She has also spoofed herself in many mediums, including in Wes Craven’s Scream 3 (2000), Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), Fanboys (2011), 30 Rock and Family Guy.
